Welcome to a deeper look into Jesse’s life—a story rooted in Kentucky values, strengthened through decades of leadership, and driven by a heart devoted to serving others. With 39 years of experience, Jesse’s journey isn’t just about titles and roles—it’s about people, perseverance, and purpose. While words can only scratch the surface, we invite you to attend events and speak with Jesse directly to truly understand the man behind the mission: a true Kentuckian, just like the rest of us.
Jesse was raised in Gallatin and Pendleton counties, growing up in a working-class family with two full sisters and two half-siblings. His father, a machinist turned accountant after a temporary disability, and his mother, a dedicated factory worker who courageously battled a brain tumor for a decade before her passing in 1999, shaped Jesse’s early understanding of grit, sacrifice, and love. Jesse was just 12 when he lost his mother—an experience that deeply impacted him. In the absence of a parent, it was the community that stepped in with open arms. That unwavering support taught Jesse the power of compassion and inspired his lifelong commitment to serving others.
A proud graduate of Gallatin County High School (Class of 2004), Jesse was never one to sit still. He worked at a local fuel station, tutored students through the Family Resource Center, and even helped launch the “News From The Schools” column at the Gallatin County News. Outside of school, he spent 13 years in the Boy Scouts and 7 years in band, mastering the trumpet, French horn, and mellophone.
Jesse began his college education at the University of Kentucky, but financial constraints led him to put school on hold and enter the workforce. Over the next two decades, he built a broad and diverse professional portfolio: from barista and warehouse picker/packer to Operations Manager for a car rental company, General Manager for a 'big box' store, and Region Director & Vice President of Operations for two inventory companies. His career took him across the country—living and leading thousands of employees in Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, and throughout Kentucky. No matter where he went, Jesse left an impact—building teams, mentoring colleagues, and fostering a sense of shared purpose.
In 2017, Jesse returned home to Kentucky to be closer to his family—now all residing within the District. His roots have always been here, and so is his heart.
In 2023, Jesse returned to college to finish what he started, pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Business. After a brief pause in 2024 to battle cancer, Jesse resumed his studies in 2025 with even greater resolve. Graduating in December 2025, he is equipped with the tools and knowledge to help move Kentucky forward.
Having deep roots on both sides of the district coupled with currently living in Villa Hills, he is the perfect candidate to serve all people of our district. Jesse and his fiancée, Shayna, love spending time with their two cats (Jack and Charlie). Jesse loves spending time in his flowerbeds, laying in the hammock, or tending to his fish (inside and outside). His love of life is shown from people to animals and extends to plants of all types.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know Jesse. His life is a testament to resilience, service, and the strength of community. As you learn more, we hope you’ll see not just a candidate—but a neighbor, a fighter, and a leader who never forgets where he comes from.
